The Southern Cross Group is an
international volunteer-run and independently funded
advocacy and support organisation for the Australian
Diaspora. It was founded in January 2000 at a "town hall"
style meeting held in Brussels, Belgium, attended by some 35
local Australians. Those present at the founding meeting
were of the view that there was a need for an advocacy
organisation which could actively focus on and work for
changes to law and policy that negatively impacted or
disadvantaged those in the Diaspora.
Were very active in the legislation which promoted dual citizenship rights for expats. |
